Featured Garden: A Garden for All Seasons

A Delightful Garden in Sharon, MA

Featured Garden: A Garden for All Seasons
The Featured Garden series presents weekly editor's picks of gardens from YourGardenShow.com.

Located in Sharon, Massachusetts, A Garden For All Seasons, was started by Pasquale who has been gardening/landscaping for 60+ years and was mentored by his father Patsy Mobilia Jr. (a master gardener in the landscape business for many years).

How did you become a gardener?

During the 50's and 60's I had the wonderful experience of working with my father, who owned a landscaping business. I especially enjoyed working outdoors and tending to the details of fine gardening on estates in the Boston area.

What is your favorite plant?

Peony - because of the large colorful single and double spring blossoms. Dahlia - for giving multiple blooms all summer and fall.

What's a favorite feature of your garden?

The formal and informal sections that give the look of separate rooms and peacefulness.

What's your greatest challenge in gardening?

Cutting down maintenance, which is very difficult to do if you want healthy, attractive floral and shrub beds.

What's your best tip for new gardeners?

I have a general policy of survival of the fittest except for dahlias and a few annuals. Above all be patient and let nature take its course. As for the lawn, mulch it (do not use a grass catcher). I haven't fertilized my lawn in 42 years.
