A Permaculture Learning Center in California

Featured Garden: AdamsCrest Farm
The Featured Garden series presents weekly editor's picks of gardens from YourGardenShow.com.

Located in California, Adams Crest Farm is an urban permaculure learning center where community members join together to learn and grow. Its community gardeners work together to grow a wide variety of colorful and delicious organic foods.

How did you become a gardener?

Our garden was inspired by the discontentment with the American mainstream system of exchange and how our obsession with this currency alienates the rights of individuals to clean air, water, and food.

What is your favorite plant?

Purple Tree Collards.  They are healthy, perennial, and purple!

What's a favorite feature of your garden?

A favorite feature is the earth spirals... Art integrated with nature is just such a wonderful combination!

What's your greatest challenge in gardening?

Our greatest challenge is just one very clever deer....

What's your best tip for new gardeners?

First, PATO - protracted and thoughtful observation.

Second, stack your functions with design schemes. This allows you to receive many yields (outputs) from only one element (input) in your system.
