Martin Luther King Jr. International World Peace Rose Garden

Atlanta, Georgia

This commemorative rose garden lies on an historic site bordering the Peace Plaza in Atlanta, Georgia. The World Peace Rose Garden pays homage to Marthin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, whose graves can be seen directly across the street.

Each color of rose in the garden has meaning. For instance, pink roses represent Coretta Scott King, the band of red roses honors African Americans and their historic contributions in this country and around the world, white roses signify the peace movements of both Dr. King and Mahatma Ghandi, and multi-colored clusters of roses celebrate the nations of the world and the improtance of peace through non-violence.

The World Peace Garden in Atlanta, Georgia, is open daily from sunrise to sunset.

Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Yerba Buena Park

San Francisco, California

Visit the spectacular 50-foot waterfall commemorating the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. at Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco, California. 

The water cascades over sierra granite and visitors can walk under and behind the falls to read and reflect on the words of Dr. King (in 13 languages) and images of the Civil Rights movement, which are etched into glass and set on the granite walls.

Martin Luther Kind Civil Rights Garden

Atlantic City, New Jersey

The Civil Rights Garden in Atlantic City, New Jersey, commemorates the leaders of the Civil Rights movement, such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This public garden features 11 granite columns, Gingo trees, flowers, plants and sculptures with inspiring inscriptions, all along winding pathways.

This garden is located at Pacific Ave. and Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd.

Martin Luther King Jr. Park

Indianapolis, Indiana

This park is located within the 14 acre King Park in Indianapolis, Indiana, and is named for Martin Luther King Jr. President Robert F. Kennedy spoke here in 1968 to give the sad news of King's assassination. Both leaders are now commemorated in the Peace Memorial pictured for their contributions to society.
