A Countryside Garden in France

Featured Garden: My Village Garden
The Featured Garden series presents weekly editor's picks of gardens from YourGardenShow.com.

Located in rural France, Our Village Garden is a romantic countryside garden blossoming in the shadows of a medieval chateau. Lynn, one of its keepers, is a longtime gardener and garden magazine professional, who moved from South Carolina to Burgundy, France in 2010.

How did you become a gardener?

I became a gardener in Charleston, SC, inspired by the beautiful hidden gardens there.

What is your favorite plant?

I love anything tropical, especially gingers, and my favorite trees are Japanese Maples.

What's a favorite feature of your garden?

I have a shade garden with old-fashioned annabelle hydrangeas, a coral bark japanese maples, and bright pink camellias. Perfect!

What's your greatest challenge in gardening?

My greatest challenge is weeds! And keeping my perennials alive.

What's your best tip for new gardeners?

First, read all the gardening magazines and study the garden designs.  Second, become a Master Gardener – it's a wonderful program!
